Charlie Kirk Discussion

“These things I have spoken to you so that you may be kept from stumbling. They will make you outcasts from the synagogue, but an hour is coming for everyone who kills you to think that he is offering service to God. These things they will do because they have not known the Father or Me. But these things I have spoken to you, so that when their hour comes, you may remember that I told you of them. These things I did not say to you at the beginning, because I was with you” (John 16: 1 – 4).

There has been the request from some members of the church to talk and dialog a bit about what happened with the Charlie Kirk shooting about a week ago. As such, we will leave a little time to talk about the shooting after the final hymn on Sunday before we give the dismissal and start fellowship and Sunday School. We realize some may need to slip out for work and such, so you are welcome to do so. It is good for us though as a congregation to talk sometimes about significant events that are affecting our country from a Christian perspective. We want to dialog in a friendly way but always from a Christian perspective, for those who call themselves Christians do not get to have our own “opinions,” but rather want to know what the perspective of our Lord and Saviour is, if it can be known. The Body of Christ can sometimes help us to work through these issues from a Godly perspective. We hope you will join us for this conversation before Sunday School and fellowship. Thank you for your willingness to serve Christ together!
